Tonight is the Micro New Moon, in apogee, the time when the moon is furthest away from the earth. In half a lunar month, the moon travelled from Supermoon perigee and arced OUT, straining the limits, until. . . Gravity always wins, to quote Thom Yorke. Does the moon feel trapped or obligated? Or committed? Or desirous? Is it fulfilled in its ontology?

The song from the beautiful Dolce + Gabbana commercial is “Tintarella di luna” by Mina. Have you ever thought about the person or people who choose the songs for these commercials? Wouldn’t you love to have that job? Participating in that kind of creativity, at that level, would be thrilling. The discussions over the storyboards would be their own drama. Picture it: A handful of creatives in the room competing to see who could be the most impressive. Would it be fun, stimulating, thrilling? Or would it be competitive, cut-throat, political? Will we ever see that real, unexpurgated video?
