The problem with being an ex-dj is that you know too many versions of songs that are much better than the album versions that they post on all the streaming services. How difficult is it to catalogue the 12″ mixes along with the rest of the material? It’s so annoying. That, and what I suppose must be licensing issues, are preventing me from access to mixes I need. Where’s your manager? SERVICE! EVERYTHING! NOW! God, what a horrible, entitled expletive I’ve become, we’ve all become. I never thought I would see a fraction of the art we now take for granted on YouTube. So, yeah : GRATITUDE, yawl.

That said, I had to be satisfied with the album version of “Closer” on the streaming services and one mix I found on Soundcloud. But the entire 12″ is one of those rare ones in which every mix is fantastic. I recorded it from my turntable years ago, and I have it digitally saved, but sharing with everyone is the problem. AHH, here’s the Sasha mix, at least, on YouTube. Two down, maybe one to go, I’ll have to check.

Anyway, I know. You’re bored. Try the Banksy video, then. I’m applauding his excursions in ASMR. It’s a nice, calming counterweight to the visual tension of watching someone paint illegal graffiti in perilous places. He’s amazing, seriously.
